Welcome!
This site, and the project underneath it, has three goals. The first goal is subject specific, and seeks to answer the question, “Can one get a sense of Jewish studies through a quantitative analysis of its major journals?” The second is to develop a workflow and the tools necessary to answer this question not only for Jewish studies but for any journal whose data can be supplied by JSTOR. The third is to try to create a site in which users – you! – can play, experiment, and become active participants in shaping and interpreting the data.
We do not claim to have solved all of these problems, but we do hope that with your help we will make some progress. So go forth, play, and participate and let’s see where we go from here!
